I’m still here!

I know it is ages since I posted last.

And for some reason my WordPress emails were not coming through. So it was time consuming to find out what you had been writing about ~ time and energy I often don’t have. I hope I have fixed that now, so that your lovely posts will once again flood my inbox, reminding me that there is another world out there.

So I feel like I have been in radio silence.

Life this year has revolved around the Fella’s health. He hasn’t been well at home and had a couple of hospital visits. You can imagine the stress and worry. He has been in hospital and rehab for all of November, and I am not sure when he will be strong enough to come home.

So my life at the moment is about supporting him in rehab, which is a daily visit, usually in the morning. And then getting some time to catch up with other things, including catching up with myself.

I have learnt that caring is a demanding job, and you need so many resources, internal and external, to help do that job. So I am looking after myself, and I am doing okay. (I know you will understand when I don’t respond to comments you might leave.)

I’m so glad you’re looking after yourself as much as you can. And don’t worry about us. We’re still here. Just give us the odd update so we know you’re ok and we’ll be happy. -huge hugs-

It’s good to know you’re OK. We all have times like this in our lives, and no-one’s going to be giving you a hard time for it. If you can spare time to give us the occasional notification to let us know you’re ‘waving, not drowning’, that’s good enough until you have different news. Hugs to you both.

I’ve been thinking of you and wondering how the Fella was going. We are having a few bumps in the road of our own so I understand how hard it is to get other things done. Best to you.

I’ve been thinking of you too… so even though sometimes you’re not here, we’re with you there in spirit at least. I’m glad you’re sorting out the WordPress technical glitches and popping onto Insta… they may connect us virtually… but they’re valuable lifelines just the same. Thank you for the update. I know only too well how hard it is to get anything but the essentials done when you are caring for someone. I am delighted to hear that you are OK and looking after yourself as well as the fella. I shall look forward to occasional ‘still here’ posts and whatever you feel like writing once he is better and home. Meanwhile big hugs to you both.

I agree with everyone – a short update here and there – because frankly not many of us can fly into your part of the world and assist – virtual hugs from across the ditch in New Zealand.

I’m so very sorry to hear about the Fella’s ill health! Fingers crossed that he will soon be back home, but meanwhile, do take care of yourself … you’re in it for the long haul, so you must make sure you don’t burn out too soon! Hugs to both you and the Fella! ❤
