What with one thing and another, I haven’t been drawing as many feathers lately. But over last year I have been becoming more comfortable with doodling. (More about that in a later post…) So I was intrigued when I settled into feather drawing that these flowed from my fingers.
Creative thought patterns are intriguing things. My yoga teacher has a piece of fabric that I love to look at. It is rich blue, with beads and sequins and threads and stitches and I love to look at it while doing the poses. Without really thinking about it, I think I had been thinking how I could recreate it. When I sat down to paint the other day blocks of tone and texture were on my mind, as well as vivid jewels and rich colours.
I would like to know what you think of them. They were certainly fun to do, and very satisfying. They will be in my Etsy shop, so I can see what the response is there too.

I really do like these Anne and can well imagine them painted or printed on silk.
Painted on silk?? Hmmm, a whole new artistic direction to think about. Thanks for your feedback. I really value what you have to say.
